This quick and easy shortcrust pastry can be used to make nice tarts and quiches.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Resting time: 1 hour
Total time: 1 hour and 10 minutes
200g (7 oz) plain flour
80g (3 oz) butter, softened
1 egg yolk
Half glass of warm water
1. Mix all ingredients well together in a large bowl until the dough is soft but not too sticky. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave in the fridge for 1 hour.
2. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to make the layers you need for your recipe.
